You're question is about pellets vs flake? Some folks use the pellets, but not as many as the flake.
Anyone want to relate recent experience with the MAG pellets?

Hi Randy,

It's not about pellets vs flake. I'd like to know if the Mag pellets
is safe to use and have the same effect as the flake ?

thanks

I am guessing that it is similar to dow flake v. peledow. Peledow is pellets and dow flake is flake of course. As far as that goes you need 20% less pellets then if you were using flake.

Are you questioning the MgCl from Dow vs the MgCl from Deadseaworks?

That's what I thought but Randy's the man to answer that. I believe his answer might be something like:
It may be adequately pure although he did not test it. Or that might be alright to use but test for ammonia and use smaller amounts at first and watch for any negative effects.

But wait for his answer on that as he may have some insider info from dow.

:D

I'm still confused. The picture in that link is MAG pellets made by Dead Sea Works.

I do not know of a Dow magnesium chloride product, but unless it is food grade or better, I couldn't recommend it without a very detailed analysis.

Oh that Mag pellets are made by Dead Sea Works and it's ok to use i suppose ? Are the mixing instructions still the same for using pellets instead of flakes ?

thanks Randy.

Yes, the recipe is the same (or at least very close). You might check this thread:
