Anybody has 36" Outer Orbit HQI/T5HO over her/his tank and would care to share pictures here ?

I am considering a purchase and would like if you are happy with your lamp.

Thanks.

I don't have the t-5 model, I have the MH with PC and I am very happy with it. The T-5 model IMO can only be better.

You are probably correct saying it should look better, but the 36" with power compacts (model 1041) has only one 150W HQI in the middle and two 96W power compacts:

The lamp I want to get is model 1071 with two 150W HQI and four T5 tubes @ 39W each. I am little bit scared of the amount of light output this lamp might produce. Even more scarry is the model 1076 with two 250W HQI...

I am not sure if my lamp is meant to be put on a 3 foot long and 20" deep tank, or is rather designed to be put on much taller, 6 foot tank (with two such lamps working side by side).

Dont you guys think 2 x 150W HQI with 4 x 39W of T5 is little too much for a 58 gallon oceanic tank, which is only 20" tall ? I have 4" of deep sand bed on the tank bottom so it makes the tank even more shallow, in about 16"-17" range.

Doesn't it sound a little too crazy to put 456W of lights over 16" shallow tank like mine? What kind of chiller will I have to get to bring the temps down with such amount of light ?

I have model #1077. I really love it! It looks AMAZING.

48" 2x250w MH and 4x54w T5 (one t5 broke in shipping though. They don't secure them at all for some reason. my other orbit fixture with PC had them secured with clips/elastics)

OH! I also wanted to add - this thing is pretty loud! Both the fixture and the ballasts

I have the outer orbit (60" 4x54 &2 150mh) and love it.
Should be fine for your tank, I'd stay w/ 150mh for 20" deep.
Just acclimate your corals.
I can't believe the growth I have since adding these lights.
Pics in gallery.

GuOD, your pic is not showing up on my screen.

Davocean: 60" 4x54 &2 150mh - only 2 150W for 60" lamp ?

Is your water that cloudy, GuOD, or it is just bad picture ?
How old is this setup ? Is it still cycling ?

BTW - what tank is it ? Oceanic ? What are the tank W x L x H dimensions ?

I have the 48" 2x150w + PC's and I want to upgrade to the 2x250w w/ T5's. Right now I'm running Phoenix bulbs in mine and I'm loving the color.

kappaknight, what tank you have these lights over ?
How tall is it ? Do you have any pictures of the tank ?
Why do you want to upgrade to 250W ?

I have the setup over a 90 gallon and the reason I want to upgrade is b/c some of my SPS are still brown on the underside. The upgrade is on the list but not an urgent thing... The tank is whiter than what the picture is showing... my camera and skills are just lacking.

Sorry for the lack of details.

4x2x2'

The tank started November 1. It's 25 lbs liverock, 100 lbs of base rock
The picture is super, the water is sucky. My water is very murky but I don't really have any way to fix it. I'll need to buy a filter to easily run GAC at some point. The water params are fine though.

The light is truly amazing. I ran some AC through a fluval one night and the next day the water was crystal clear and everything. I highly recommend this light... I believe it beats the Coralife HQI Pro fixture (this one used at LFS)

That's correct, 4x54's and 2 150w MH on the 60"
It's plenty of light for my tank as it's only 20" deep.
Any deeper and I'd want 250w
The 72" comes w/ 3@ 250w plus T-5's
That's most likely what's going on my new 180.
My camera sucks, so pics don't do it justice, but it's very bright.
I've had to move stuff lower, and even my LTA has tucked into the rocks a bit for less light.

Apologies, I know this is a VERY old thread...

I bought a light system back in 2009 and then right after that I had to break down my whole tank system and move. I ended up selling off much of my gear and inhabitants to make the move easier. I put this light into storage, but I've since exited the hobby. I'm planning a new move again, and I just came across this light in a box in my attic. I want to know if there would be any interest in this light system since it seems like everyone has moved on to LED lighting? My light system is now discontinued, but it was listed here (http://current-usa.com/files/LightingSizingGuide.pdf) as a "high light system" for a 30-65 gallon tank. I had it on a 46 gallon bow front.

It is Model # 1071, barely used, still in original shipping box.
36" Outer Orbit 2 * 150w 10k HQI-MH with 4 39w T5HO & 18 LED lunar lights

Since this forum doesn't seem to have a trading post, where would you recommend I try to get exposure? or just throw it up on Ebay? What would you think would be a fair price for this light system?
