I recently purchased a 125 gal tank from my LFS that they had as a display tank. The current set up has a sump w/bio balls and live rock in it. The protein skimmer should be installed this week. I have two powerheads currently circulating water inside the tank. One is rated at 600 GPH the other is 800 GPH. My question is, do I need any other filtration for this set up? Seems like their is a lot of sediment that blows around inside the tank out of the sand. The LFS guys says this is all I need. Just wondering. Is this too much flow in the tank?

Thanks in advance for any help or ideas.

I have the same setup for about a month now. I have 100 pounds of live rock I pickup two weeks ago with a sump & balls. I hav two power heads, one on each side with sand bottom. I have no problems with what I have running.

Thanks for the reply.
I was hoping I wasn't being led down a path of future problems.

I use a filter sock on my drain to help get rid of some of the junk in the water column. As you add some rock and corals, you may want to increase the flow a bit.
