Hello all, I currently have a candy cane coral, and I was wondering about target feeding. I feed them plankton, or finely chopped shrimp right now, but my main question is when i am feeding them using a baster, do you have to get each polyp? or does the colony somehow "share" the nutrients. I just don't know if each polyp is considered a seperate animal, or not. I am relatively new with keeping corals, so please forgive my ignorance on this subject. Any help would be appreciatted, thank you,
muzz

Yes each polyps should be fed.... most of the time I just blow a cloud of food over the whole colony and they fend for themselves.

Do you 'need' to target feed or do they filter feed too?

Why not do both.I mostly let them filter feed but every now and then I give them some shrimp.

they eat up any shrimp i blow over them immediately, but the lower polyps dont seems to get the food. i know they filter feed also, but watching them eat is really cool.......... thanks for the reply.
