Hello.
I'm planning on upgrading from a 175 to a 250 and need some advice.

Currently I have 2 175 w 10K XM bulb/setup. I'm planning on going to 2 250 w 14K setup.

I have a 68 gallon tank. Yes, 2 175 is more than enough...but I like to blast my corals with lights.

Anyways, I can't decide if I want to go with Double Ended (DE) or Single Ended (SE) bulb/setup.

What is the difference between SE and DE? More power?

I would have to pay and extra $100 for the DE pendant fixtures. That's something to consider.

Just wondering if it's worth going to DE's in such a 'small' tank.

Thanks for any advice!

DE is a better bulb. Its the HQI spec which has many advantages over a SE or probe start bulb.

You should read this thread... it explains what you are looking into.

Short story, DE bulbs are better.
