I have serious amounts of pulsing xenia that i want to frag for store trade and two local stores want some. Ive done some fragging with excess rock and now need more rock to base it on . Should i buy more live rocks and smash them up or will cheaper rock do. The xenia is growing like weed and i just want some regular store credit for different corals

Have you tried frag pegs?
They're cheap.

Little discs, some are flat like a coin, and some have a peg so you can insert into a hole in LR.
I can't remember who sells them offhand, but most reef suppliers carry them.
Maybe someone will chime in w/ a link

Alot of frag dudes use these pegs now, and you can move them easy or place wherever you want.
Save the LR for your display or sump.
If your fragging alot, pegs are cheaper and IMO keeps us from yanking so much LR.
Every little bit helps.

The easiest and cheapest way to frag xenia is to break up a piece of base rock into small pieces (1" x 2"). Place the rock in a small plastic container in your tank on the bottom. Spread the cuttings over the rock and they will attach in about 2 days. The discs are good for SPS corals but a waste of money IMO for xenia.

You could also by some rubble rock from someplace like reeferrocks. It's pretty inexpensive for a bunch of perfect frag size pieces of rock.
