i just upgraded to a 125g. never really got into skimmers but thought it would be time to experiment with one. I was heading towards a Coralife SS but i dont wanna put 200 bucks in a skimmer not getting the best votes.
Right now i have a sump with about 10"x 10" space left. I would rather have a external skimmer. Needle wheel. Id like to use about $500 or so. but if i have to i dish out.
Also, im looking for a chiller. any good advise?

I'd get a Euro-Reef, personally. The Deltec and H&S skimmers get good reviews, too, but are even more expensive. Some people like the ASM skimmers.
I don't use chillers, so I can't help there.

That's a really small sump area, try to work in an external recirculating skimmer instead. I would seriously look at H&S A150 as it is one of the best external skimmers to support any tank from 75g to 180g heavy bioload. Pricing isn't really much different from the EuroReef and less expensive than Deltec, but has similar performance. A little more than your $500 budget though. Good luck in your research.

How about an ATI Bubblemaster? From what I am reading their performance is quite strong.

Keeping within the $500 budget for an external skimmer, the
Octopus DNW200 (http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=CV-OCT-DNW-200&Category_Code=Octopus) would work.
