Question from a DIY newbie: Is zinc wood screw ok for cabinet/canopy interior use?

no, it will rust. clamp it with wood glue and it will hold better than nails or screws. after its cured (24 hrs.) youre ready togo.

If you're new to the whole DIY thing, practice a bit with gluing and clamping, until you get a feel for how thick a bead of glue to put down, to minimize what gets squeezed out. If you want to use screws, you can find square drive stainless screws. I've bough them at HD and Lowes. Not cheap, but stainless isn't cheap.

Brass screws wont corrode either, but you dont want them to have any possibility of contact with your tank due to the Cu content.
