can anyone id this damsel for me?

Damsels can be very difficult, especially as juveniles. My closest guess is a juvenile Dischistodus fasciatus or maybe a juvenile Stegastes albifasciatus--I am not at all sure. Let it grow larger and the ID should be a bit easier an more accurate.

well, at what size would he be adult then? i thought damsel dont grow till big size

ditto........but it does look like a juvenile banded and will reach adult coloration with age......if it is... it will get more white on it's flanks and two black spots along the base of the dorsel with those black bands. It should only grow to about 4 1/2 "s

^^^Yup, pretty aggressive, too (I am referring to D. fasciatus, which I think is more likely).

as for now, he is still quite peaceful, didnt see him chasing after any of my fish except for my flame when its swam too near him. do you guys think that he will post a problem later on? most of my fish are under 2.5"
