Here is the background:
I've got a Coralife Lunar Aqualight PC fixture that is 2x96w PCs over a 65g tank (2ft deep) with mostly softies and some LPS. The lighting and color is okay (obviously it could be better with a different fixture but this is what I have). I'm using a ratio of 1 part 10K, 2 parts 460nm, and 1part 420nm bulbs, so overall I have a bright "blue" look to the tank (much better than the included 10K bulb and 420nm actinic bulb).
I'm thinking about supplementing this fixture with a 2x39w T5 Retro kit (probably Sunlight Supply Tek). I would like the ability to expand my hard coral options. My questions are the following:
1. Should I place the T5's in front of the fixture (to light the deepest water) or behind the fixture to get the brightest light centered on top of the rock pile? Should I consider placing 1 T5 bulb on each side of the fixture?
2. What combination of 2 bulbs would you suggest for growth & color? I was thinking maybe the ATI 12K Aquablue Special & ATI Blue Plus.
