I was wondering what you would suggest that I do. I have a 72" long x 24" wide x 30" tall reef tank with two 400 watt metal halides with 14k Coralvue bulbs. I had two coralife 36" 192 watt (dual 96 watt) one bulb in each is a 10k and one is a true actinic power compact lights so i put them on the edges on the top of the canopy which allows me to run the 400 watts lights about 2 feet apart centered over the tank with the dual power compact lights one on each side of the lid. I always run the power compacts with the 10k in the day and the actinic bulbs on for an hour for dawn and dusk.
I have a few questions:
1) Should I not be runinng the power compacts on the tank as the 10k will ruin the color of the corals compared to my 14k bulbs?
2) Is my lighting cycle correct? As I start the day with 1 hour of each actinic bulb, followed by the 10k lights with the two 400 watt 14ks for 7 hours, and then 1 hours of actinic before the tank goes to the 24 led moon lights which are spaced equally over the tank...
3) Should I change the bulbs in the power compacts to just dual 96 watt actinics and run them for the whole 9 hour day?
Please help as I have read it all and I never trust anything without the help of my Reefers! Thanks again
