Where can I purchase good T5 bulbs at? I do not want those jackass geissemann bulbs they die too fast. I lost my favorite clam do to these piece of crap bulbs. These are the only ones that I can find and I do not care for them. Also with your recommendation how often does one need to change out bulbs. I heard 1 year then 2 to 4 months its all hear say. Does anyone have any facts? Thank you for the input.

I have a Sun Systems, Tek Light, 54w 4 light system. I have 2 actinics made by Geisemann and 2 pure daylight 10,000K made by PCI. The light is only 2.5 months old and the ends are already black or stained black also they are no where near as intense as they were before. Again is there a more effective setup besides having 2 of each or should I get Different styles? How I have my light running now is i actinic and 1 10K running 10 hrs and the other set running about 6 hours. To try to mimmic daylight in luminens. Is this the right path or am I wrong?

You can't beat Reefgeek.

I just received all my bulbs (14) for a new 72" T5 Aquatinics unit I bought.

Packed extremely well, free shipping, good selection.

Here's my light schedule:

10:30am: 1 super actinic comes on
11:30am: 2 blue plusses go on
12:30:aquablue special and aquasun come on
8:30pm: aquablue special, super actinic, and aquasun go off
9:30pm: both blue plus go off

All are 54 watt, 48" t5's, retrofit with icecap reflectors. My reef is mixed with softies and sps. I have 5 lights total, all listed above. This is on a 55gallon with standard dimensions too.

In your case, I would run the actinics for dusk/dawn and run the 10,000k's for mid day conditions. That's just my taste though. I like the look of the blue in the morning and at night.
