Not sure what this is, I know when its not happy it turns into a grey blob on the rock.

When its happy it extends like in the photo... its not fully extended in both pics, just courious what this is... and what type of care it needs?

This some type of Xenia?

Very neet how these stalks just appear from this grey goo, hehe

Thanks

Can't exactly tell, but looks like xenia. Maybe a pom-pom.

I wana give this a bump...

The reason I'm still asking is i did some searches for Pom-Poms and i didn't see any pics of them closed up?

Is my description of them looking like a melted grey blob accurate? Cause when they aren't happy they are just a blob, but then out of nowhere come the stalks.

This was after tank crash - some toxic inhabitants died. Started to restore in 3 weeks.
Very hardy, the worst thing - temperature drop, the slowest recovery, IMHE.

That's how they start off. You'll see a "blob", and then you'll start to see the heads coming out.

The same thing happens to me when I frag mine. I literally whack the entire stalk off with a scalpel about 1/4-1/2" from the rock, and just let it sit. In a week or so, I see little tiny buds starting again.
