Opinions needed MRC 1 Skimmer +

In my current tank I'm using a ASM G-2 with a sedra 3500, I have a opportunity to purchase the MRC 1, how much better is the MRC??? Using a Mag 12 will it heat my tank water, how many degrees roughly. Currently my temp fluctuates 2 degrees from early morning temp to 5 minutes before lights off.

If your going to get a beckett skimmer, don't bother unless you get a pressure rated external pump. Seriously. :)
