devils hand leather........they are hardy.........leave in low to med flow... med light.....temp from 74-80*f .....with good water parameters...........they shed a thin mucus like coat when growing it will be fine in a few days and polyps should extend about 1/4 inch..........good luck.........al

Looks like a toadstool or some type of sacrophyton. Get a pic of it now, it will be easier to tell.

I would have to lean towards a toadstool than a devils hand, but obviously a leather either way. Look at how the edge wraps around creating the "fingers" (fold on the rim) you're seeing. Devil's hand have very specific points where it comes out all over, not just at the edges.

Just my initial thought.

My two toadstools on the left, devil's hand on the right.

Don't want to really jump the gun,but looks like a nice specimen of finger leather/Devils hand-that hapens to have very good polyp extension.Very nice piece. As for the first coral posted,I too would say a Sacrophyton sp.HTH

45commando is correct, it's a devil's hand.

That's a great sign :) Don't get too stressed if you see it "close" and shrink once a day (especially at night). Just keep an eye on it for any excessive shedding, but at this point it looks to be acclimating well.

.

Ok cool I had just gotten me one, its polyps haven't come out yet. Though it looks really healthy, I didn't know it would look like that.

Sorry for hijacking. :p
