Can anyone help me out on an id for this? The tube part is sand that it seems to be putting together. I saw it last night and it didnt have the tube. it just looks like a stringy thing coming out from under the rock. Thanks in advance!

i cant think of the name offhand (go to melevsreef.com to find a positive ID)

But it is some sort of tube worm.

oh he doesnt have that on his page? i havent looked on there lately, but it just seemed like he would have this on there ;)

But yes, its harmless. Normally, its safe to say that most things that dont get up and move around are harmless (and likely just a filter feeder)

Wow. I've been trying to figure out what those little things were for a while. I've got about 3 of them in my tank.
