When you are making the water...how many gallons does it take to actually make 75gal in a 75gpd unit...Is there alot of water that is just put down the drain.

Yes, usually about 3 or 4 to 1, waste to good.
Temp and pressure affects this a bit.

The average is 4:1 waste to product or good water so you will use about 375 gallons total. You can use the waste for other purposes though, it has been through a sediment and carbon filter so is still good water. Water the lawn or shrubs, fill the pool, put it in the washing machine for clothes washing etc.
