I just hooked up 2 120mm fans in my canopy and was wondering if i could hook them up to a dimmer switch or something to control the speed they are much too big and loud on full blast.

Get a variable voltage DC power supply. Harbor Freight Tools has them for less than $5 and you can vary the fan speed with the turn of a small dial or speed pot. You can also get them at Radio Shack and WalMart for less than $10. I run my fans at 9 or 10.5 volts in winter and 12 volts in the summer and they are dead silent. BTW they are Vantec Stealth 120mm fans from New Egg.
