I'm launching a 75g Reef -- Heavy on the DIY. I plan to paint the back exterior glass black for background. Any suggestions on the best paint to use? Thanks.

Krylon Fusion. You can get it at hobby stores. Nether HD or Lowes had it around here.

Personally I would use and did use a latex paint. Roll it on and If you decide in the future for a diff. color or something it will peel off fairly easily. You would have to use a razor to scrape off other paints

krylon fusion
I used a plain old flat black spray paint. It held up just fine for years. I've done this on several tanks now without a problem. Just make sure to tape off all the sides you don't want painted and the tank trim. Any overspray is easily scraped off with a razor blade.

I like to use vinyl from a sign shop...Just apply it with soapy water...It is easy to remove also...Just did my 180...

You can find Krylon Fusion at the Walmarts down here. It works pretty well and isn't too expensive.

the cheapest can of of whatevercolor is the way to go. just be sure to paint two coats so there are no holidays in the background.
