DO anemone's need to be acclimated? If so, is the process the same as with fish?

I do not handle anything in my tank without rubber gloves.

just so you know 300 watts over a 175 gal. tank is far from enough light to keep an anemone. also nova's T5's only use a single reflector for all the bulbs which is why they are not the greatest T5 fixtures. you need single reflectors for each bulb to get the max out of T5's

SG plays a big role get that locked on as well before dripping

I always heard the same thing about my PC lights. If you have rock work stacked up towards the top the anemone will find it's way to the light. It will stop moving once it finds it's ideal location - and it probably will not be at the very top of the rocks.

You probably should use gloves when handeling the Nem, but I think the only time I have ever heard of anyone being stung is when they have an open sore on their hand - always better to be safe then sorry.

Drip acclimating is a must as the Anemone will expell all of it's previous water and take in your water to acclimate itself to your tank. You will probably see it do this a couple times over the first few days.

Good luck.

I would not quarantine an anemone. Let him find a suitable place in the main tank and leave him alone. I think QT is unecessary and would stress the heck out it.

Take a look at my gallery, that anemone is still in the same spot w 110w PC, have to disagree with needing lots of wattage.
