I am trying to decide between two of the Tunze kits for my 150 Gallon (72" long).

I do not have any experience with Tunze and am looking at either the:

TSF16 - one Turbelle® stream 6100 & one Turbelle® electronic 7400 with the Multicontroller 7095

OR

TSF21 - two Turbelle® stream 6000 with the Multicontroller 7095.

Which one should I get?

Thanks,
Rick

I would suggest the TSF21. It should give you plenty of flow and you could upgrade it to 6100's just by adding the power supply or just add two more streams later since you have a multi controller. Always think versatility so you got options.
Good luck!

I would just go with the 2 6100's kit w/ 7095.

Reason is you can dial down and later there is no need to upgrade transformers. Price difference isn't very big either.

But really this is a hard question to answer without knowing the type of corals, deep sand bed or barebottom and future plans to upgrade.

All in all, the 6000's are a great choice it's just like everything else in this hobby. You always want more later so you might as well go as big as you can the first time.

I have a 72" 110 and started with 2 - 6000's and a 7095. I am BB so I upgraded to the 6100's.

It is a few pennies less to purchase the 6000's and upgrade to the 6100's rather than purchase the 6100's. And you can either sell the 6000 transformers or keep them as backup.

So if your not sure, I'd suggest buy the 6000's and if mo flow is needed, upgrade to the 6100's.

Thanks for the replies.

Has anyone used the Tunze electronic powerhead model #7400?

Thanks!

IMO, it would have been better to go with the 6000's. The price of 2x6000 + 7095 + 6100 transformers ends up being the same as the plain old 2x6100 with 7095. You can't dial back the 6100 much and so it would have been a safer bet, and no extra $ to simply start with the 6000s. I have both. I know you already ordered them, so I'm more posting this for the benefit of others...

Hello Rick, I have a 72" 150 as well and am very interested in knowing how the 6100's work out for you and if you have a sandbed or not. please let me know when you get them all set up and running.

Thanks Darin

Will do Darin. I do have a sandbed, about 2" max depth.
