Flow- I have an AP 24 and I've got a splitter head for the outflow. What directions should I point the 2 shooter things? I have this circular flow around the tank and all the particles keep coming back into this flow, and not leaving out the into the filter.

Do I need to feed my shrimp? Or will he find his own food in the LR and stuff?

I think I should get a new powerhead, should I just get a big new master one? Or get a smaller new one and run the current on and new one?

My snails arent really cleaning the algea on my glass, they just roll on over it and nothing is cleaned, should I just do it myself with a scrub? I dont want them to have nothing left to eat.

Also- What is a skimmer exactly? Should I get one for my Aquapod that says is has a built-in skimmer action?

What kind of shrimp, I have had peppermints before and I was told to feed them mysis but it might be different for other types.

Running the stock pump? If so upgrade to a maxijet 1200. I have had my nanocube (same as an aquapod) going for 8-9 months now. EVERYONE said to replace the pump so the first thing I did when I got the tank was to replace the pump. Used the stock pump to mix saltwater and as an emergency backup (pumps can go out).
So after using the stock pump for a couple days a week for 8-9 months the thing just died on me the other day. If it would have done that in my tank it would have killed everything in a matter of hours (no oxygenation). Not trying to scare you and your stock pump isn't going to go out on you tonight or anything but get something dependable.

Clean your glass, your snails will find enough food elsewhere. You can use a little microfiber cloth that can be found at most fish stores or hold an old credit card at an angle and scrape it.

Bump. I got myself an MJ1200, I dont know if I should just replace the stock with it, or make a new closed loop thing.... That would put me close to 600 GPH

Hello,i have had my 24g aquapod for 2 1/2 months , I replaced pump with a mj 900 and also use a mj900 for water flow .I'm not going to preach what to do because there are so many different ways to set up you can get very confused. I use 25lbs lr 15 lbs argonite sand ,all i put in the back sections (1 bag aquaclear carbon and a fist size piece of filter floss under bag of carbon) I change 3 g water every week ,and 5 gal once a month .Iguess you could call this a natural system ,without using a protien skimmer, hope i have been of some help Stuart. p.s. i buy purified water for all my water changes and airify for at least one day before mixing salt ,and i day after mixing
