Has anyone tried those new LED panels form Clearly LEDs? I think the website is clearlyleds.com

I am interested but just wanted to see if anyone has them yet. Looks like they offer LED panels for "Do it Yourselfers" Thanks

After Looking through their webpage. I found a instruction page under their lighting system section. Looks like they provide a power supply.

$85 for a 6x8 panel... and they're showing 5 panels over a 30 gallon tank.

I'd sure like to be convinced a little more than they do... what does the light distribution look like, how does sps like it, before and after pics, how will they work over a larger tank or are they only suited for a small tank?, would I need a dozen or more of them over a 90 gallon tank? etc...

Tim,

I found a pictures link under the "lighting Systems" page...http://www.clearlyleds.com/Gallery.htm

Looks like the 1st picture shows 40 Breeder with a couple of clams and at least some sort of brain type coral to the left.. Seems interesting enough to me.. I will probably get one to expermint with. looks like there basic one is $75 and the $85 dollar panels include some UV type LED that makes pigments glow more..

in a year or two these things are going to be cheap. it only a matter of time for this to break out. look at lcd panels and other electronics. i would bet that something like this will be $30 or less in 2 years http://www.ledtronics.com/ds/r30-123/.
