Hi.

I have 4 x 56W T5 Lights in my 48 x 24 x 20 set-up. 3 are white and 1 is blue. Can I keep acroporas and 'brain corals in my tank with this lighting?
If not, what do I need to add to be able to? I have room for another two T5 tubes.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure the white's are ~6500k and the blue is ~24000k.

you need a minimum of 30x turnover for sps, what is your flow?

do you have individual reflectors?

I have individual reflectors for each light and I have two Seio pump going at 7500lph.

Which reminds me... I have slightly damaged on of my reflectors such that it's slightly buckled in one part, only slightly - will this make a difference?

Hi. Hope no one minds me resurrecting this thread. Just would like to know peoples opinion on my situation with regards to keeping acroporas. Have I got any lighting restrictions? Many Thanks

I would say there's a lot more to keeping acros, and most SPS, than simply the light. That being said, I recall there was a "recent" TOTM using only T5 bulbs. I'll see if I can find it ..

What light do you have? is it a fixture or a retro? Also what bulbs do you have? and what is your tank depth?

~6500k and the blue is ~24000k

kramleigh: It would be helpful if you could post the model for the blue bulbs, because some of the blue t5s actually produce quite a bit of PAR, but the true actinics tend not to.

Ok... My tanks is 24" deep. Got my first measurement of kelvin wrong. I use Deltec Giesmann tubes with 2 twin Arcadia control units. There are 3 54W Aquablue+ 15000k and 1 54W actinic+ 22000k. Is this enough? Thanks

Do you think the addition of another two T5s will help?

If you have you heart set on adding something then add a halide
