As the title says, I'm wanting to hear how many people are actually using the seasonal temperature variation function of the AC Jr. (or other AquaControllers). I started using it yesterday, but I'm kind of worried about the temp. dropping down to 75 deg.F after hovering around 78-80 for the past few months. This morning the tank was ~75 and my xenia were all clenched up, so that got me worrying.

What are everyone's opinions? I'm using the seasonal light variation and I'd like to eventually use the moon cycle function, I figured the temp variation would be good too . . .

I use the variations from about 79 in winter to 83 in summer. You can either use the current program and is RT+3.0 or whatever degrees you want, or upgrade to firmware 3.2 and you can change the seasonal temp values. I did the later option and revised the seasonal temps.

I've done exactly that.

You just put in the temperature for each month into the Season table and it interpolates all the intermediate values for the days of the month

Two thumbs up!

My next step is to modify my lighting program to use the sunrise/sunset values.

I use it. My tank is actually doing better in the low 70's. When my tank hits 74-75 everything is fine.

Cool. I just needed to hear that some others are doing the same thing, I'm going to try doing the seasonal temp also. I don't have a chiller, so hopefully things won't fluctuate too much (temp. got up to a little over 77 today due to the lights). But at this rate I'll hardly ever be using the heater! Which is cool b/c that bad boy pulls 300W!
