I currently have a pfo hqi pendant with a 400 watt 14k hamilton bulb DE. I am thinking about going with a DIY reflector with a 20k xm single ended mogul bulb ran with my pfo hqi ballast. any suggestions on where I could get a reflector? my tank is a 60 gallon cube 24x24x24. I don't know why I have had no luck with this DE Bulb:0(

Check with www.premiumaquatics.com look for the luminarc reflectors. Last time I checked they (PA) had them. They were avaliable in kits or as individual componenets.

is 400watt 14k to much for a 24" deep tank?

May not be too much for the sps but it might break the wallet ?

For height above the tank, I'd balance light with heat transfer. Start at 8" above the water and see how it goes.
