Anybody knows how to id sps or any website which has details? I really want to know the exact name of each variety. Thanks.

Step 1) Guess

Step 2) Let other people guess

Step 3) Decide what you're going to call it

:D

You can try Dr. Veron's Corals of the World series (3 volume set). It's basically a coral taxonomy book for SPS. I have a copy, but identification is still pretty tricky.

Aquarium corals by Borneman is a very good book for acro identification.

and Corals: A quick reference guide by Sprung is very good as well.

I agree books are good, but you learn alot from websites like this and other big retail websites after being on them for awhile.

I like the Jeffbrig approach.

THe JeffBrig approach is the approach you're taking whether or not you use books. The scientists can't identify half of this stuff, theres no way you'll be able to.

the real only way to id is to kill the coral then bleach it then still make a good guess
