Has anyone else ever notice that their nassarius snails are flocking, schooling, herding, etc. I've noticed that about once a day there will be two groups of about five snails each flocking around the tank. I just thought this was odd behavior and was wondering if anyone else had noticed it.

Does this correspond to feeding time?

usually they don't do this unless they've caught wind of something they like (dead or on it's way out)

It does usually happen around the morning feeding time. Could this mean that they are not getting enough food from the sand bed?

I think it means they've either smelled food or have been trained and know approximately when it coming.

Yep, they seem to go at things in groups but I am sure its more to do with everyone of them smelling the food and going to the source than a herd mentality.
