A couple days ago I was using a dremel to cut a slot in chamber 1 so I could move a modded filter closer to the in take. The dremel was plugged in to the same powerstrip that everything else is plugged into. When I turned the dremel off the actinics shut off. Anyone else seen anything like this? Im not sure if the bulb itself went out or the ballast went out.
Ideas??

Switch the bulbs around. You should then be able to tell if it is the buld or the ballast. HTH

Well i switched the bulbs... nothing... so I unplugged the cord and as I was doing this I noticed that my timer had switched to off. I have no idea why the dremmel caused this to happen.
But now all is well. I laughed once I realized that it was something that I should have looked at first. I have learned a nice little lesson from this.
But thanks for everyones imput.
