It is a Purple Plume Gorgonia, Muriceopsis flavida, also called the "Rough Sea Plume".

Got it from Ken at SeaLife, Inc. sealifeflorida.com

You know, I didn't think so either. But, I talked to a lot of different people and a couple of people that are experts and they thought that it would be good.

He is open nicely and colored well and very responsive. But, I keep a close watch on him. If he ever starts to show signs of trouble I will give him to someone who can take care of him...

OH..... Not long at all... this is a new experiment.

Tank has been live since 12/26. Clam has been in for 3 weeks.

I don't think you can judge anything until he has been in there for 6 months or a year. But, he won't last that long. I hope to have a 150-200g tank up and running this summer...

and everybody will move into that...

But, I do have to say that everything is thriving in my tank right now...

Hammer is looking great. Ricordea are expanding. Xenia is uncontrollable. Clam is opened up nicely.

My gorgonia has all his tentacle/mouths (?) opened up and is getting new growth.

My only deaths have been a few snails that my hermits attacked for the shells. I have since returned some of my hermits and only have scarlets now.
