My blue legged hermit ripped my nassarius snail out of its shell about three hours ago. I didn't get to it in time and the snail was free so i didn't care too much. The snail is still living and moving around and it is still eating. I don't even think it noticed that its shell is missing. It probably won't live without a shell but i never heard of a snail living like that. Their is a pic in my gallery. The black thing is its siphon tube or whatever and u can see its eyes and everything. Has it ever been reported that a snail has regrown an entire shell?

Yes, it is possible for a snail to lose its shell, live, and regrow a new one, but they rarely live long enough to regrow it. They are quite vulnerable in these rare occurences.
