Hybrids.
Freaks of nature. The more rare the higher the price.
They look neat but I still find them ugly.

honestly, i think thats one of the ugliest fish i've ever seen aside from goldfish :lol: I mean it looks like its about to croke at any moment....doesnt look like what a healthy fish should look like, altho i dont doubt that it is healthy.

I like the one with orange on its tail, IMO the other one is ugly. Man those cost way too much for a fish, I dont care how rare they are.

Getting fish of the same species to breed is hard enough, but getting fish of different species to breed is next to impossible. The high $$$ figure is a rarity factor. These guys are pretty much one of a kind, and are not likely to ever be seen again. They're probably very difficult to keep, and in such a "badge of honor" for some extreem hobbiests.
I'm glad they're charging so much... I wouldn't want these fish in some newcomer's tank.

then why are they taking them from the ocean, i wish they would only take the most common
