I just cured my rock and placed sand in my tank. All my parameters were looking good yesterday. I was not planning on adding any fish until I returned from a trip the first week in March.

My wife called me at work and told my our nephew threw a metal measuring cup into the tank. She said it was in the tank about five minutes, until she was able to removed it. I won't be home until 8am Sunday. I'm I screwed? Should I do a water change when I get home?

Grin. With a kid in the house, a menacing talking-to about "Daddy's tank" and how it's "mine" may help. Ditto have on hand: activated carbon and a packet of women's kneehigh hose; and polyfilter, which is able to yank chemicals and metals out of water fast.
