sx230, pictures would help a bunch in this instance. You could post this question in the Marine Plants & Macroalgae forum (http://reefcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=176) to see if someone can better answer your question.

I had see grass..."look at my gallery." If yours look anything like it, you
have to move the rocks to the sump or cook'm, if you keep'm in your main display it will over run everything..."nothing is gonna help." Not even the best algae eaters, it's just too much of what they don't like.

That looks like briopsys (sp) in your pictures, benray. That is a nasty algae.

I agree, i since did my tank over and this is what it looks like today after that hard lesson for an experience...I'm still stocking it with frags.

Big improvement. I don't blame you for cooking your rock...

About 3 months... depending on phosphate levels. It's a losing battle, you might as well put'm in a sump or fuge or cook'm clean, clear the tank of any pieces and start over..."that's what I had to do."
One day and you'll knock it all off or move it, it doesn't take long, but you have to plan it and just launch an all out war...lol
I wish I had a better answer or news, but I don't, that's what it came down to for me, so I just rolled up my sleeves and dove in...

Plus- great for phosphate control in a fuge cause it grows like weeds..."unreal."

Negative- can't grow anything else in the fuge cause it will over run and choke everything.
