View Full Version : My first 55g salt tank ever, Just a few pictures.

Ok well my tank is a 55g tall, i know not that best choice but wasnt srue if i was gonna stick wioth the hobby since i new nothign really when i started. It is about 9 months old now and i think i did a ok job on it. anyway...I just wanted some feed back on any7thing at all, tank, livestock, equipment, aqauscaping. My first time puttin any pictures up so... be easy :) I deifintly plan on adding more but i am broke and a student so kinda have to go slwoly as you can see with how long it took me to get where i am right now with this tank.

Specs...
55g tall
120 LBS sandbed, extremely alive
50 LBS live rock
216 watts t5 hood
Coral superskimmer, the one for 60 gallon tanks
a seio 600, maxi 900, and a maxi 600.

Fish:
Blue Devil, Sabae Clown, and a Firefish

Inverts and corals:
Skunk cleaner, feather duster, serpent star, billion little inverts and such, Green Fungia plate coral, Yellow fiji, frogspawn, xenia, sabae anemone, monti cap.

First week

yeah i guess , it actually jsut started to grow about 3 months ago when i got my t5s out of the rock, and out of nowhere bascially, and it is a mazing breeding ground for pods and stars, and it grows so quick. and it floats witht eh current which i think is cool.

what are the dimensions, how are the t5s performing?

i also for got to mention i have no sump and no filtration besides the skimmer and do a water change once a month and does about 5 gallons of lime water(made with mrs wages lime powder) once a month ove rthe course of 4 days. that keeps my levels at par and thats about it.

dimensions are 48 inchs long, by 12 wide and 18 high and the t5s are great, i have the monti cap in there for about a month and i have seen about 1/2 to 3/4 inch growth on it
