I'm splitting some Reefermadness acros with a friend: One 5" maricultured colony and a 3" "aquacultured". It would be most convenient to frag them on delivery, but I'm a little worried about the added stress on top of shipping and acclimation?

How should we handle this?
1) frag on delivery, before acclimation
2) acclimate in one system, wait a week before fragging
3) other options...

I would frag when you first get it... esp if it is a colony....

Yea it wont make a diff, better to frag it and get it where its going to be for a like while so you don't have to mess with it again anytime soon.

but you are already stressing it out with shipping so i would not frag it until it get's happey in your system first. IMO

Hi,

I did the same thing on about four separate occassions a few years back on a split order through reefer madness. We actually chopped up corals into as many as ten pieces and I don't recall anyone having problems with the frags. Hope this helps!
