Sump????

Ok, the first part of my list of things to do for my 55 reef is to make a sump. How would I go about making one? I am only 15 and I need someone who can EXPLAIN the compartments and return pumps what to do with a fuge. I am in complete darkness when it comes to sumps and refuges. I plan on having the sump/fuge a 10 gal. will this work? could I drill holes to connect 2 ten gallons together (as it is cheaper this way, but I don't want to skimp on equipment as I want to do it the right way first and not have to redo everything in a couple months)? Please some one help me make one and walk me through how it works in lamens terms please! thanks to whoever helps.
