My gf is making me post this. Im sure its cant be done but she wants to make sure. She has a 3 stripe in a costom 25g right now. She will be getting a dwarf lion right away and was wondering if the can co mingle. Im scared the 3 stripe will stress the lion out. Any ideas.

I think the lion will hold its own

If there's any remote chance the 3-Stripe can fit in the Lion's mouth, then he will more than hold it's own.

Agree with the above - anything small enough to fit in the lion's mouth becomes a meal. Other than that they are pretty peaceful.

Damsels stress everything out. I wouldn't subject any animal to a damsel long term. I'd be worried about the damsel being a fin nipper. Not so much of a concern with a dwarf lion as they dont have the long wavy fins like other lions but I still wouldn't do it. I have 2 3 stripe damsels in my 180G (no way to catch them or they would have been gone long ago) and they stress the whole tank. On the other hand I do have a yellow tail damsel that is a model citizen so it partly depends on the individual fish I guess. Every three stripe or domino damsel I have met has been a holy terror though and the bigger they get the meaner they get. The dwarf and the damsel might be ok but I'm sure you will be adding other things eventually and 9/10 damsels end up being a problem. If he has been in the tank by himself he is probably territorial too...

Yes....and it will just be the damsel and the lion. I want to take him out but thats a no go and i dont know how i would catch him. Thought the lion might be fine cause of the venom?

A 25g tank is too small for a dwarf lion.

Do you mean radiata? Because those get kinda big. A 55g would be the minimum, and that's pushing it.

You might be able to keep a fuzzy dwarf happy for awhile. They come pretty small, but an adult will still be too big for a 25g and will still eat that 3-stripe.

good i hate that d@mn 3 stripe. hmm well maybe we will see how big it is i have a 55g kicking around so if it out grows that i can plop him in there. Didnt want to but hes already ordered so kinda hard now. LFS told me 25 would be fine and he was the smallest of the dwarf lions.
