Which is hotter T5 or PC

Some day I hope to replace my 4x55w PC over my 55 with 4x54w T5 or (gasp) 6x54w T5. I currently run no fans and everything is fine. Do T5's give off more heat than PCs?

They are both hot...but I don't think I've ever been blistered by unvented T5s like I have been with PC lamps.

more watts will give you more heat.

If you do go t5's I would get fans even if its not to hot, fans increase the output of t5's

With the t5 you will need to run some sort of fans. The venting increases bulb life (IMO).
