How do you convert 1000mcg/L to ppm?

I have some calcium chloride solution that says it "may contain less than 1000mcg/L of aluminum"

I have read the aluminum articles here on RC but I need to know how many ppm that would be in order to use it or throw it away.
The calculator page could not do it for me.

thanks for any help,

To throw what away?

1000 mcg/L is, I presume, 1000 micrograms per liter.

1 ppm is roughly 1 milligram per liter.

1 ppb = 0.001 ppm = 1 microgram per liter

So 1000 mcg/L = 1 ppm

It is actually off a tiny but as 1 L of seawater weighs a bit more than 1 kg (1.026 kg), and so 1 mg/L is not quite exactly 1 mg/kg (which is exactly 1 ppm), but that correction is trivial for most purposes.

Thanks Randy,

I wanted to know if the CaCl solution, that I have, can be used.

It contains 1000mcg/L.

Thanks again

Commercial and DIY calcium chloride solutions that I tested have on the order of 0.1 to 0.2 ppm aluminum (that's in the liquid form, the solid before dissolution would have more). Yours might be similar, but the spec allows it to go up to 1 ppm.
