new Rs euroreef skimmers vs Octopus

Please advise should I buy euroreef RS or octopus skimmers for FOWLR 180 gal tank? Thanks.

both are good skimmers so either would work. An octopus nw200 with meshmod would do a good job on a 180 as would a euroreef RS135, it just depends on how much you want to spend.

The RS is a better skimmer out of the box, mostly because it has a better pump. It doesn't need a mod to work well. For a 180, the RS180 would work or better yet, an RS250 would would very well if you can fit a 30" tall skimmer.

the only problem is the ER RS units cost twice as much as the octopus units and are not twice as good.
