Please, no Salifert recommendation. For some reason, I have trouble "reading" the shades of yellow on Salifert's test results chart.

I use Salifert kits for everything else, but I need a different kit to test for ammonia that has a chart with colors easier to read.

Any ideas?

FWIW, there are two types of ammonia kits, and they have slightly different colors, but there is not an unlimited number of different colors available. I've never used the Salifert kit. I've used the LaMotte and Red Sea, but I can't say if they are any better than the Salifert kit in color distinction.

Nessler type kits show levels of ammonia as yellow, higher is orange and even higher levels can be brown.

Salicylate type kits show yellow to green to dark green based on the level of ammonia present.
