In case the power goes out and I need to run a converter from my car, how long can the extension cord be?
Ive seen them sold as long as 100ft, but would it be ok to daisy chain two of them for 200ft???
Running on an inverter is rough enough without adding the resistance of that much copper. Wouldn't recommend it myself.

If you use the heavy duty construction grade cords with a gfci you should be okay.

get 12 guage cords. they make them in 100 feet lengths

Buy a Generator? And it gives you way more power. Plus Im not sure about running resistance items like pumps on inverters.

anything over 100 ft gets a voltage drop. There is a formula to find voltage drop. Ed = K x I x L x 2 divided by CMA I wont bore you with the break down of that but no i would not to use 2-100ft cords. really bad idea running of a 12v power converter. think of your lights ( there is a power factor) you must be in to run correctly. Any motor will burn out if you do not run the 120v it needs. It will work but not for long.

Make sure you take good advise when dealing with anything electrical.

I have used 100 foot extension cord with a generator before when we have lost power. No problems. Ran it all night until power was restored.

whenever you look at power tool manuals it always tells you what extension cord lengths and gauges to use for certain levels of energy consumption.

All depends on how much current you will draw...if you're just planning on running a return pump of ~200W or less it will be no problem.

Also, here's a useful link that allows you to calculate the drop in voltage - http://www.csgnetwork.com/voltagedropcalc.html
