quick help..how long will a peppermint live out of water?

I've been trying to trap a peppermint for a couple days, and i'm 99% sure i pulled a rock out that he was in. How long will he live out of water? I don't want to leave the rock out any longer than i have to.

10, 15, 20 minutes? Maybe a half hour or longer, but i would not count on it being alive if its been more than a couple hours or so. If the rock is wrapped in like wet paper towel (w/saltwater, not fresh) then there may be a possibility, but not if you just pulled it out and let it sit there imo.
