I see this really odd thing at night. Its a small white trunk like appendage that emerges from the same hole in the rock each night or at least the last two nights. when it first pokes out, its around 1/4" long lying flat against the top of the rock. then it will start to extend and it goes up and then comes down extended and grabs at the rock and then retracts. Fully extended its about 1 1/2" long. Its pretty obvious that this action is it feeding. i doubt its hurting anything but man is it bizarre looking!
