has anyone tried to use a quarter of a 6'pvc pipe as a coast to coast of, kinda like an over flow water trough? i was thinking of trying it in my new 90 gallon build but didn't know the best way to bond the pvc to the glass?
if im not clear the 1/4 circle of pvc will be 48" long and take up the entire top 3 ish" of the back wall of the aquarium.

Silicone.

That's a nice idea

what do you guys think? with 2? or 3? (how many do you think ill need for 1000gph) 1" drains will this design skim the surface really well? i probably will have to just leave the durso's off due to space constraints inside the 3" tall overflow, or maybe i could hack a durso style into fitting would just have to really cram it in? will i die from the noise?

I love the idea, really makes the overflow low profile. IMO the more drains the better, and i think it will def skim the surface well as long as the edge of the pipe is really straight. If your worried about fitting an elbow in there for noise you could try to get some 8" pipe, get an extra inch. good luck, i'm interested to see how that works
