Heating Element only with the AC Jr?

I'm shopping around for new heaters and I also plan to get the AC Jr. eventually - hopefully sooner rather than later.

Can a heater that is an element only - like this one http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=WON-13305&Category_Code=Wonheat
be controlled by just the ACJr?

I was going to buy an element and the controller that goes with it, but I'd rather put that money toward an ac jr.

Yes, but a heater with a temp controller built in adds some safety margin.
