MH question

I am looking at upgrading from the orbit PC's to the Outer Orbit with 2x 250 MH & HO T5's. My concern is that the heat would melt or compromise the plastic brace on my tank. (I would be using the docking mounts not suspending it above the tank). Does anyone know if this would be an issue? I also have a plastic frame around the top of my tank.

I haven't heard of anyone melting a tank with a reasonable setup. I'd avoid putting the MH bulbs right over a brace, I guess.

fyi...i read a post about these that said they didnt give good light when the legs where used b/c it sits too close to the tank. they said when they hung it, the overall light was much much better. when they hung it, they suspended it 9-12" above the tank.
