has someone seen a salt poll....I don't see it under the polls section?

I'm thinking of switching to Tropic Marin and wanted to get some views on various brands before I switch.

I've been considering the same switch, but not sure yet. I noticed there is copper in it as listed by the included minerals, anyone think this is bad?

IO $34 and some change with tax for a 160gal bucket at petsmart. Print out the price from petsmart.com and take it in for a price match.

I used to use Oceanic, after 8 months or so my calcium levels were like 800+, I read on RC of others having the same problem. Maybe it was a bad batch, maybe not. I talked to the guys at The Salty Critter (Ohio), they suggested Tropic Marin, and I love it, mixes well, no problems, been using it for like 1.5 years now.
I'm sure there are other brands that are good, but i'm happy with the switch.
just my 2 cents

actually something that would boost my calcium a bit would be good for me....I'm stuck at the 380 mark with calcium and was hoping a salt switch might help. Don't think I'll go Oceanic, what's your experience been with Tropic Marin and calcium?

I use Tropic Marine Pro Reef- costs more but has a higher calcium content- around 440 -450
The alk is a bit low but is not a problem- there are new scholols of thought about lower alk levels- to each his own - I supp.
No need to worry about reading copper.....natural sea water has copper in it.
I've been using Tropic Marine salts for over 15 years- never had a problem!-
PS
I used to use IO but will never go back.

I use Seachem Reef Salt and like it. I was going to switch but there is some paranomal force that won't let me. I guess my gut tells me why change something thats not "broke"

so if I wanted to raise calcium, is switching salt a strategy that would help, e.g. tropic marin. Any value in doing so?

Oceanic here, helps keep my Ca up. Baked baking soda is cheap for the low alk.

This is a fairly new salt, so not many people have tried it yet. I picked up a bucket of it and have been extremely pleased with the numbers so far. 1st few batches mixed to Ca level of 430.

You're not serious, are you??

You can only get these buckets at Costco and Sams, plus they come with a small forklift under the cap as the prize inside. :D

I've used about 300 g so far, and have managed to burn my acro tips. Thinking about going back to IO which never caused a problem. Don't know why I switched when there wasn't any problems.
