Calcium reactor flow

I am using a Mag 7 to power my reef concepts calcium reactor. The water inside the top of the reactor (the effluent) is spinning and the aragonite on top of the pile is spinning in circles around the top. Is this supposed to happen or do I have too much flow inside?

There is nothing to worry about. The flow of your reactor is from top to bottom so there is no risk of drawing media into the plumbing with the higher flow rate of the mag seven.
